Stress is something we all encounter regardless if it’s physical, emotional, mental or even environmental. Your body responds to stress by automatically adjusting blood pressure, heart rate, respiration, metabolism, and blood flow. This is often referred to as the “fight or flight” reaction and is intended to help your body react quickly and effectively to a high-pressure situation. But instead of protecting you, it can have the opposite effect if you are constantly stressed, thus making you more vulnerable to life-threatening health problems.
Stress is a part of life, and our nervous system can handle it to a point. However, interference within the nervous system can limit the body’s ability to process stress, which can generate any number of negative and potentially very serious side effects.
Chiropractic can help by removing the interference (subluxations) within the nervous system, allowing the body to better process the stress, so the body’s other support systems can return to a more healthy balance.
